The self-checkout at the grocery store just yelled at me for not bagging the tax on my alcohol. I know that taxes can be a heavy burden, but metaphorically so. I didn’t think that you could actually weigh them. Especially not the $1.03 Cook County liquor tax on a bottle of Svedka. That has to be fairly light, even as a metaphor. I told the machine I did not wish to bag that item.
